A Kent country estate,

Established in 1984 and once known as Gore Farm, The BarnYard is a secluded retreat set in the heart of the Kent countryside in Upchurch. Joanne and David McInnes have lovingly transformed it into one of Kent's best loved wedding venues, restaurants and event spaces.
Surrounded by 150 acres of apple and pear orchards, with a luxury glass marquee, a rustic barn restaurant, and gardens designed to take your breath away, it's a place to escape, to gather, and to celebrate.

Beyond private hire, The BarnYard hosts its own calendar of celebrations all year round, from festive afternoon teas and seasonal feasts to themed evenings and our ever-popular wedding open days.
Come December, the Arboretum is dressed in twinkling lights for sparkling Christmas party nights, festive lunches and Christmas afternoon teas, a wonderful way to celebrate the season in Kent.

We had our wedding at the BarnYard in September and it was the most magical day, the perfect venue and setting for what we were after. We had so many compliments from guests on the venue being stunning, beautiful Kent countryside, gorgeous outside ceremony area and idyllic orchards.

This was our first visit to The Barnyard to celebrate our mother's birthday and it didn't disappoint! From the moment we arrived the staff were extremely friendly and attentive. The menu had lots of choice, so much so we could have ordered all of it, it was delicious! Another visit is a must, we can't wait to come back.

The service on the day was absolutely impeccable. The staff truly went above and beyond to help us achieve our dream, from extensive planning to helping me surprise my groom, helping me walk in my dress, and coordinating between the live pianist and our music. I truly wish we could do the whole thing again.

We had the Christmas Eve breakfast and the food was absolutely wonderful, it was all very well organised too! A really lovely way to start Christmas Day and the kids loved every minute of it.

Simply WOW. Such a beautiful and incredible venue. We had the Apple Barn for our ceremony and the marquee for the breakfast and reception, and both were just truly amazing. All the staff went above and beyond, never rushed anyone, always helped where needed. Worth every single penny.

Absolutely outstanding from start to finish! The food was exceptional, beautifully presented, full of flavour, and clearly prepared with great care and attention to detail. The service was just as impressive. The staff were warm, friendly, attentive, and made us feel genuinely welcome throughout our visit. It's rare to find a restaurant where every aspect of the experience is spot on, but The BarnYard certainly delivers. We couldn't fault a thing and will definitely be returning.

We booked the Special High Tea for a 60th wedding anniversary in the beautiful pink and girly exclusive Mezzanine area. Finger sandwiches, scones, handmade cakes, sausage rolls, cheese straws and chocolate-dipped strawberries, all fresh and so tasty.

What a fantastic wedding venue, so twinkly and beautiful! It was amazing that the catering was included, they were excellent with all our dietary needs, and everything was so delicious. The whole process couldn't have been easier. Choosing them was truly an easy decision!

I'd like to say a huge thank you to all the staff at The BarnYard. The school decided not to do a prom, so myself and a few parents organised it all with the help of the staff. We were constantly back and forth with questions and they were always happy to help. On the evening everything went really smoothly and it all looked truly amazing. The kids loved every second of it and made some lovely memories. I would recommend this venue to anyone, it's absolutely stunning.
