Book the Classic
Afternoon tea in Kent, out in the orchards rather than a hotel lobby. Served in The Rooster, our oak-beamed restaurant open 9am to 4pm Wednesday to Sunday, everything is baked fresh on the day and the stands come piled high. Pull up a chair, pour the first cup, and make an afternoon of it.
People often ask the difference between afternoon tea and high tea. Afternoon tea is the lighter, mid-afternoon treat of sandwiches, scones and cakes; high tea was traditionally a heartier early-evening meal. We serve ours all afternoon, and you will hear both names for it here. If you are searching for afternoon tea near you in Upchurch, Sittingbourne or across Medway, you have found it.

Everything in the Classic, made an occasion with a celebratory drink to start things off.
A glass of prosecco to start, or a cocktail from the bar instead.
Book the SpecialAfternoon tea is at its best when there's something to celebrate. Birthdays, hen parties, baby showers and Mother's Day are what we do best, with personalised touches, a celebration cake if you want one, and fizz to toast the occasion.
Enquire About Afternoon Tea
Bigger group? Hire one of our private areas and the whole afternoon is yours, your own room, your own service, and somewhere to spread out, decorate and settle in without sharing it with the restaurant. A proper private dining experience, built around your table.
Up to 24 seated A pretty, pink room with a flower wall and neon sign, set above the Rooster restaurant. Intimate and tucked away.
Up to 50 seated A rustic, characterful space of its own. Warm, private and made for a long, lazy afternoon.
For larger parties Our converted rustic barn, oak beams and indoor fairylights, dressed for a seated tea when the guest list runs long.
Grazing boards and extras can be added, and we'll help you dress the room. Tell us your numbers and we'll point you to the right space.
The stands change with the calendar. Some of our favourites are the ones we only put on once a year, taken from the in-house events we love to host.
March One of our busiest days, so book early. The full works, with a glass of fizz to toast her.
